I used to wonder why they called it a 'funny' bone because hitting it was no laughing matter, until I realized it is called that because everyone else laughs at you when you do it. So far, no one has convinced me otherwise. But did you know your 'funny bone' is actually not a bone at all? It is a bundle of nerves. Funny.

It gives a tingling electric shock from time to time when you hit it. That tingling effect might be the reason to think that it is fun.
And it is as such so funny to call a bundle of nerves as a bone

Years ago, in another life-time, basically, I dropped a case (24) of glass soda bottles because I hit it (my 'bone') while moving them in the walk-in cooler where I worked. Hurt like crazy, of course, and then I had to clean up shattered glass and soda from all but 7 bottles
